Various Bootcamp Options (Boarding & Training)
Hybrid Obedience Bootcamp:
(the length of time needed to complete this program varies)
The Hybrid Bootcamp Training Program is one that is popular amongst owners who have a desire to be a part of their dog’s training education from the start, but also appreciate the added help and structure of some inboard training for their dog.
This program typically consists of a 3-week bootcamp combined with several private lessons before and after the bootcamp. Typically, three lessons will precede the bootcamp portion. The objective of these lessons is for you to learn how to build a basic obedience foundation with your dog. We typically will meet for a private lesson weekly or every two weeks. You will be given instruction and homework to follow through and complete with your dog. You will also be given a schedule/routine to adhere to with your dog during these weeks to help ensure your success.
The purpose of the 3-week bootcamp portion of this program is for me to solidify your dog’s new obedience foundation (and, in most cases, to teach your dog remote collar communication). You may be required to purchase a remote collar for your dog based on my recommendation (the remote collar will be an additional expense).
The purpose of the lessons that follow the bootcamp are for us to tie everything you and your dog learned together and for me to educate you on how to maintain continuing success with your dog’s training.
This Hybrid Bootcamp Training Program is suitable for puppies and dogs of all ages who do not exhibit more than mild behavioral issues.
Obedience Bootcamp:
(approximately 4 weeks)
This training program is designed for owners who want a trained dog, but who lack the time, willingness or ability to train their own dog. During the course of this program, your dog takes part in fun and engaging training sessions throughout each week, including group training sessions with other bootcampers. Training takes place in various places ranging from our spacious 10 acres to neighborhood settings and other public places (i.e.: Home Depot, pet stores, outdoor patios of restaurants, parks, playgrounds, etc.). This bootcamp gives your dog the opportunity to experience different settings, environments and levels of distraction with the expectation of exhibiting good manners and obedience, regardless of the environment. During this program, your dog also takes part in daily play time with other dog-friendly dogs who are in my training programs.
Dogs who complete this program have an understanding of good general manners, and are able to demonstrate the following commands/behaviors:
- Sit
- Down
- Stay
- Recall (come when called)
- Leave it
- Wait, before entering and exiting through doors/crate/vehicles
- Walk nicely on a loose leash
- Place or “go to bed”
- Crate trained
In some cases, depending on the dog’s temperament and age, your dog may also be able to demonstrate these behaviors off-leash reliably with the use of a remote collar
This bootcamp is suitable for puppies and dogs who do not exhibit any behavioral issues. If you would like to enroll your dog in this bootcamp, but your dog has behavioral issues, please refer to the Behavior Modification Bootcamp.
Included in this program are two (2) follow-up lessons wherein you will be educated on your what your dog learned and how you can best follow through with your dog’s training to ensure lasting results.
